How to Build Self-trust

In my group program, I take participants through a visualization exercise to help them get in touch with their intuition and inner knowing – whatever phrase you use for your inner “source of truth.” It’s a powerful experience and the cohort members walk away with deep and reassuring insights.

After the exercise, someone said, “This has been great - but how do we stay connected with our intuition and learn to trust ourselves every day?”

Here’s my answer: it’s a practice. A journey. Like anything else we’re trying to master, it takes time, attention, and the experiential learning of listening and acting according to our intuition every day to build the muscle so it becomes second nature.

The world is noisy; our inner voice is quiet. In my own experience, I’ve found it incredibly helpful to have free time and space to listen to and reflect on what my inner self is saying. Lastly, a consistent mediation practice has been impactful on my overall self-awareness and presence, clearing away some of the static so I can hear myself more clearly.
